Ethel M. (Goery) Allen

McElhattan - Ethel M. (Goery) Allen, 86, of South Renovo passed away, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Lock Haven Extended Care unit. She was born March 16, 1926 in Galeton, the daughter of the late Baptists and Clara (Grant) Goery. She was married on June 20, 1942 to Thomas M. Allen who died December 13, 1991. Mrs. Allen worked for Piper Aircraft retiring in 1988. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Renovo. She was an avid sports fan of the Phillies, Steelers and Penn State. She was a member of the McElhattan United Methodist Church card club. Surviving are two sons Thomas J. (Rosemary) Allen of McElhattan and Terry E. (Pamela) Allen of Lock Haven. Eight grandchildren Angelete, Beth Ann, Stephen, Amy, Jeff, Gary, JohnPaul and Nicholas also six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Bonnie Bloom and a brother John B. Goery who died in Korea. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the McElhattan United Methodist Church, McElhattan Drive, McElhattan with the Rev. T. R. Hardick officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 10:30 – 11:00 am. Interment will be private at North Bend Cemetery, North Bend.
