Ethel L. (Wagner) Bankes

PINE TOWN ROAD- Ethel L. (Wagner) Bankes, 92, died on Monday, July 13, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Bankes. The couple had been married for over 35 years. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Emanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry, is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 24, 1922 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Susan (Rupp) Wagner. Ethel was a line worker for Shiny Bright. Mrs. Bankes was a member of Moore’s Mountain Church. She enjoyed shopping and photography and loved her pets. Mrs. Bankes is survived by four sons, Robert H. Bankes, Jr. of Enola, Jerry L. Bankes and his wife, Becky of Dover, Richard A. Bankes of Mechanicsburg and Denny E. Bankes and his wife, Sharon of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by a son, William S. Bankes; and a daughter, Susan R. Wentz. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
