Ethel A. (Albert) Derk

Lewisburg, PA - Ethel A. (Albert) Derk, 98, died Tuesday, May 08, 2007 at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. She was the widow of Leon Z. Derk. Born in Freeburg on May 28, 1908, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Virgie (Hackenberg) Albert. She married Leon on January 12, 1929 in Milton. Ethel tended to the family farm until the 1950's. She was a lifetime member of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg. Ethel is survived by one sister, Mildred Albert of Newville; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Heinzelman of Lewisburg; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Hulda Albert, preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007 at Montandon Cemetery. A funeral cortege will commence at the cemetery entrance at 10:45 a.m. Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Inc., 125 N. Front Street, Milton is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ethel's name may be made to Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
