Esther M. (Griffith) Barnhart

RED LION – Esther M. (Griffith) Barnhart, 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Raoul W. Barnhart to whom she was married for 63 years.

A Celebration of Life Service Will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Stonepile Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, prior to the service.

Born May 2, 1937 in Rylesville, Maryland, Mrs. Barnhart was a daughter of the late Evan Griffith and Reba (Snyder) Goheen. Mrs. Barnhart was a 1956 graduate of Red Lion High School. And worked for many years as a presser for DeVono’s Dry Cleaning in Dallastown. In her free time, Mrs. Barnhart enjoyed crocheting, painting ceramics, baking, and cooking Sunday dinners surrounded by her grandkids.

Mrs. Barnhart is survived by two sons, Todd A. Barnhart, and Jan I. Barnhart; two daughters, Kim A. Wolfe, and Sherry L. Bowman; eight grandchildren, Derek, Brandon, Christa, Ashley, Tyler, Cyle, Dylan, and Kayla; 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barnhart is preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Griffith, and Butch Goheen; and a sister, Betty Snyder.
