Esther I. (Stauffer) Bankes

YORK HAVEN - Esther I. (Stauffer) Bankes, 85, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Kenneth P. Bankes. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 in Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry. Friends and family will meet in Emanuel Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bankes was born June 15, 1923 in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Cyrus and Vergie (Miller) Stauffer. She is survived by a daughter, Judy A. and husband Glen V. Bowling of Hunt Valley, MD; two grandchildren, Sam Bowling and Dennis Smith and wife Patty; two great grandchildren, Adam Smith and Destry Arnold; a sister, Clara Aungst of Harrisburg; and a very close nephew, Robert Stouffer and his children, Angel, Brian, and Chrissy. Mrs. Bankes also leaves her two beloved cats "Tiger" and "Goldie." She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ginny Smith; and a son, Kenny Bankes.
