Esther E. (Waltimyer) Ness

YORK - Esther E. (Waltimyer) Ness, 92, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Manor Care - Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Ness. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 19, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Anthony D. Zumbo officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday and 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born December 31, 1917 East Hopewell Twp. a daughter of the late William L. and Lulu T. (Dinsmore) Waltimyer, she retired from Yorktowne Kitchens after more than 20 years of service. Mrs. Ness was a former member of York Moose Lodge and Cross Roads U.M. Church. She enjoyed bingo and playing the slots in Atlantic City. Mrs. Ness is survived by three sons, Robert B. and wife Norma Ness of Glen Rock, Donald L. and wife Roann Ness of York, and Dean R. and wife Nancy Ness of Red Lion; four daughters, Doris N. Diesinger of York, Patsy A. and husband Stewart Leiphart of Windsor, Cindy S. Lewis of Dillsburg, and Betty L. and husband Wayne Keiser of Windsor; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a brother, Reed Waltimyer of Red Lion. Mrs. Ness was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Ness; two grandchildren, James Ness and Ashley Keiser; two brothers, Roger and Russell Waltimyer; and two sisters, Ruth Wolf and Erma Snyder.
