Esther A. Guizar

SOUTH RENOVO - Esther A. (Wertz) Guizar, 74, passed away, Wednesday, Sept., 24, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Lock Haven. She was born January 7, 1940 in Renovo a daughter of the late Elmer and Selma (Levander) Wertz. Esther was married to Jerry W. Guizar who died Sept., 14, 2011. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together. She was president and co-owner of Hometown Distributors, Inc. of Renovo. Earlier she worked as the editor of the Renovo Record for 40 years. She was a member of Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Renovo. Esther was a 1957 graduate of Renovo High School and was class valedictorian. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls where she served as an advisory board member, Order of Eastern Star and served as tax collector for 40 years in S. Renovo. Esther enjoyed crafts, gardening, home improvement projects and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are three sons Jerry W. Guizar, Jr. of Montrose, David L. (Karen) Guizar of S. Renovo and Jon E. (Leah) Guizar of Bellefonte. One daughter Bobbi J. (David) Guizar of Lock Haven. 5 grandchildren Chris, Justina, Eden, Caden, and Vivian and 1 great grandson Michael. One sister Jean (Lee) Woomer of Howard. She was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Wertz. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept., 27, 2014 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with the Rev. John Harwood officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
