Estelle D. Snyder, 88 died Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 at HCR ManorCare Dallastown. Estelle was born Stanislawa Eva Dziubinski on March 28, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Josef and Anastasia Dziubinski. She was the wife of the late Charles K. Snyder of York. During WW II, she was studying to become a nurse at Cook County Hospital in Chicago when she met her late husband at a USO dance at the United States Naval Station Great Lakes Training Base. Estelle came to York and continued her nursing training and was employed by York Hospital where she served as a nurse in the newborn nursery. Estelle and her late husband were members of the Pegasus Travel Club and were able to travel extensively during their retirement years. Estelle remained fluent in the Polish language and was able to travel to Poland to visit the village where her mother was born. She was also an avid reader and had an interest in Art and Literature. Estelle is survived by two daughters, Christine A. Zarnowski and husband, Nicholas of York, and Beverly L. Eberly, also of York; two sons, Charles J. Snyder of Dallastown and Michael K. Snyder and wife, Karen of Red Lion; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister and dear friend, Theresa MacNevins of Scottsdale, AZ. A private ceremony will be held for family members with burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County S.P.C.A., 3159 N, Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
