Erma F. (Gohn) Mcguigan

RED LION Erma F. (Gohn) McGuigan, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles P. McGuigan. Funeral services and burial will be private in Red Lion Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born June 26, 1916 in Red Lion a daughter of the late Claude S. and Mary Ellen (Barnd) Gohn, she was a 1934 graduate of Red Lion High School. Mrs. McGuigan had retired from McCrory Distribution Center in 1980 after 17 years of service. Prior to McCrorys, she had worked in the cafeteria at Red Lion High School and at the former Peter McGuigan and Sons Cigar Factory. Mrs. McGuigan was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and volunteered with the Republican Party on Election Day. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing at the New Jersey and Delaware beaches. Mrs. McGuigan is survived by two daughters, Shirley D. and husband Braden W. Ausherman of York and Deborah A. and husband Barry R. Mitzel of Red Lion; two granddaughters, Jamie and husband David Detter and Ashley and husband Keith Brown; three great grandchildren, Jessica and husband Woodrow Runkle, Joshua Dehoff, and Emily Detter; and two great great grandchildren, Colten and Madelyn Runkle. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Cindy and her husband Bradley Dehoff; and two brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ermas name may be made to your favorite charity.
