Erma Esther Brininger

LOCK HAVEN - Erma Esther (Stahl) Brininger, 95, a former resident of High Street, Flemington died Monday, Nov., 28, 2016 at Susque-View where she resided the past four years. She was born July 9, 1921 in Snyder County a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Stahl. Erma was married to Edgar Brininger who preceded her in death in 1990. She worked as a laundry technician for Lock Haven Hospital. Erma was a member of First Church of Christ, Flemington. She most of all enjoyed her family gatherings, embroidering and playing cards. Surviving are six sons, Ronald Brininger of Selinsgrove, Elwood (Nancy) Brininger of Beech Creek, James (Connie) Brininger of Howard, Robert (Janice) Brininger of Virginia, Paul (April) Brininger, of Mill Hall and Thomas Brininger of Lock Haven also seven daughters Joyce Long of Mifflinburg, Arlene Sager of Williamsport, Shirley Sampsel of Flemington, Barbara (Tom) Carson of Beech Creek, Sarah (Robert) Lewis of McElhattan, Debra (George) Fultz of Beech Creek and Sheila (Ross) Weaver of Flemington. 36 grandchildren several great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. One sister Thelma (Luther) Arnold of Freeburg. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters a son in law Stanley and a daughter in law Ruth. Erma was preceded in death by a daughter Audrey, an infant son Eugene and an infant daughter. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Dec., 2, 2016 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Mark Riley officiating. Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1309. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
