Eric L. Smith

Red Lion—Eric L. Smith, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Diana L. (Kalb) Smith to whom he was married for 47 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, February 07, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Stephany Sechrist. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Red Lion Cemetery.

Born April 06, 1941 in Red Lion, he was the son of the late Noah L. and Ethelda A. (Wagner) Smith.

Mr. Smith was employed as a Pharmacist for 49 years, retiring in 2006 from Minnich’s Pharmacy. He also worked with Lion Pharmacy.

An avid outdoors man, he was a passionate fly fisherman and pheasant hunter. He loved reading and was well versed in World War II history. Mr. Smith also enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife and served in the Army Reserves.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is also survived by one daughter, Laura L. Smith of Red Lion and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Heiss and Roxanne Smeltzer.
