YORK—Emma M. (Miller) Statella, 88, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Country Meadows York-South. She was the wife of the late Fiore Monte Statella. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30PM, Wednesday December 29, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be held from 12-1:30PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery. Emma’s Tribute Service will be webcast live on her obituary page at www.HeffnerCare.com Born December 10, 1933 in York, she was a daughter of the late Charles K. and Beulah (Manifold) Miller. Emma graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and later earned her Master’s Degree from Millersville University. She was employed as a teacher with Eastern York School District for 25 years until her retirement in 1996. A member of the American Business Women’s Association, she was also a member at Heidelberg United Church of Christ. She loved dogs and enjoyed traveling, yo-yo quilting and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Statella is survived by her son, John A. Statella and wife, Kathy of York; her daughter, Mona L. Albright and husband, Steve of York; five grandchildren, Michelle Statella, Joseph Statella and wife, Jenny, Montie Royer and husband, Derek, Kyle Albright and wife, Jess and Tristyn Albright; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Miller and James Miller; two sisters, Ruth Smythe and Susan Joiner and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six siblings.
