Emma C. (Raup) Hummel

MILTON - Emma C. (Raup) Hummel, 93, died on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Watsontown Health & Rehab Center. Emma was born in Montandon on June 28, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Blanche (Beaver) Raup. She was married to the late Noah F. Hummel, Sr., for 43 years until his death on September 16, 1980. Emma was a former employee of Tom Hilands Cannery, Philco, Philco Ford and Zenith. She was a member of the Montandon Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting. Emma is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Noah F. Jr., and Betty Hummel of Milton, Robert D. Hummel of Sunbury and Terry L. and Kitty Hummel of New Columbia, two daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy L. and Guy Stover of Lewisburg and Patricia D. and Charles Zerress of Franklin, ten grandchildren; Tara L. Leigh, Kurt F. Franklin, Michele R. Hummel, Lesley K. Dunkle, Chad Hummel, Brad Hummel, Steffan S. Stover, Sonya S. Stover, Cathi J. McMillen and Cindi A. Power, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one brother; Melvin L. Raup of Montandon, one sister; Beatrice Swanger of Milton and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Connie D. Hummel, one brother; Woodrow Raup, two sisters; Olive Bergerstock and Gladys C. Priesel and one nephew; Fred Priesel. There will be a public viewing from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Montandon Baptist Church, 257 Main St., Montandon, PA 17850 with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Thomas M. Marker will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847.
