Emily (Roberts) Rutland

YORK- Emily (Roberts) Rutland, 92, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York. She was the wife of Robert H. Rutland. The couple would have celebrated their 67th wedding July 12th of this year. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with her Pastor, Dr. David E. Sutter officiating. A visitation will be held from 9- 10 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born January 9, 1922 in Abington, Pennsylvania, Emily was the daughter of the late Edward and Bess (Young) Roberts. Mrs. Rutland is survived by two sons, Steven Rutland and his wife Connie of York and Michael Rutland and his wife Carla of Dover; a daughter, Sharon Douthwaite and her husband Larry of Littlestown; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and a brother, Edward Roberts, Jr. of Williamsburg, Virginia.
