POTTSVILLE - Emily L. Sidler, 89, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Pottsville, died Tuesday afternoon in the loving arms of her family at the Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven. Born in Pottsville on March 25, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Nellie (Good) Buehler. She was a 1938 graduate of Pottsville High School. Before having children Emily was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone for 10 years. She was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Church, Pottsville. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Guild. Emily was also a member of the Stein's Hollow Beagle Club Ladies Auxiliary, Auburn. On June 26, 1948 she married Robert H. Sidler, who died September 25, 1985. Surviving Emily are: three daughters, Ann and her husband James Bowman, Seltzer City, Cheryl and her husband John Turner, Pottsville, and Deborah and her husband John McGeoy, Pottsville; five grandchildren, James and his wife Jody Bowman, Jeffrey and his wife Melissa Bowman, Amy and her husband David Heinbach, John and his wife Megan Turner and Johnny McGeoy; nine great grandchildren, Emily, Camryn, Lily, Sadie, Jacob, Marlo, Brody, Maria and Madison; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a great grandson, Luke Turner; three sisters, Dorothy McGovern, Caroline O'Brien and Elizabeth Whims, and a brother, Gerald Buehler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM from the Church of Saint John the Baptist, 10th & Mahantongo St., Pottsville. The Reverend David Loeper will officiate. Family and friends may call from the church from 8 until time of mass. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in the Saint John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Saint John the Baptist Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
