Emily E. Cover

YORK-Emily Elizabeth (Black) Cover, 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, North in York. She was the wife of the late William Franklin Cover, Jr. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Cover was born in Reading on May 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Emily E. (Heckendorn) Black. She retired after 35 years of service as an office manager for York Daily Record. Mrs. Cover leaves a son, William F. Cover, III and his wife Pamela of Manchester; a daughter, Joanne Shafer and her husband, Richard, Jr. of York; four grandchildren, Brandon Cover, Valen Keefer, Richard Shafer, III, and Ryan Shafer; six great grandchildren, Branson, Emerson, Gemma, Scarlett, Dylan, and Caylee; and a nephew Dennis Good.
