YORK – Elwood R. “Woody” Paules, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his pastor, The Rev. Marion Haynes-Weller officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Hopewell Presbyterian Cemetery. Born March 7, 1923 in West Manchester Twp., a son of the late Millie A. (Ness) and Ervin E. Paules, Sr., he had received technical training from William Penn Senior High School and began working at Floorola Products. He later worked at Ervin E. Paules, Sr. Construction, Crescent Industries, was a cofounder of Superior Mold Builders with his brother Ervin, Jr., and founder of Custom Mold & Plastics. He had also worked at Doall Corp. and was the founder of Creative Manufacturing Services. Mr. Paules was a member of Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church in Hellam. He also served as a trustee, elder, and Sunday school teacher for 40 years at Hopewell Presbyterian Church near Felton. Woody was a member and supporter of Gideon’s International, Southeast Camp. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII where he served in the South Pacific and Okinawa. Mr. Paules is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Paules of Red Lion; a daughter, Nancy L. and husband Robert Kauffman of Windsor; four grandchildren, Adrian S. and Lori A. Paules, Jonathan M. Kauffman, and PFC Nathaniel R. Kauffman; three brothers, Frank H. Paules of Shrewsbury, Charles E. Paules of Spry, and Robert L. Paules of Dallastown; one sister, Betty J. Jackard of Lititz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Woody was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine S. Paules; his former wife, Laura I. (Russell) Paules; and four brothers, Ervin Jr., Donald, Glenn, and Marvin Paules. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s Intl., PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
