Elsie Mae (Smith) Young

SHREWSBURY – Elsie Mae (Smith) Young, 88, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Gene H. Young. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Ronald E. Heagy officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Born February 22, 1925 in Windsor a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Rebecca J. (Emenheiser) Smith, she had worked in various cigar factories as a young woman. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Young is survived by a son, Edward E. and wife Linda Smith of Windsor; a daughter, Jane M. and husband Robert Marrison of Glen Rock; three grandchildren, Roxanne and husband Mark Swanson, Lindsay Magera, and Benjamin Marrison; and a great grandson, Chase Michael Swanson. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Elmer, Paul, and David Smith; and three sisters, Mary Beaverson, Alice Shuemaker, and Anna Stabley.
