Elmer L. Staub

York—Elmer L. Staub, 79, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary E. (Miller) Staub, with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage on December 27th. A celebration of life service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, with the Rev. Jerry L. Beers, of Hanover Wesleyan Church, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born April 21, 1930 in East Berlin, he was a son of the late Elmer M. and Sarah (Seidenstricker) Staub. He joined the United States Navy in 1947 and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving on the U.S.S Missouri. He was employed for 33 years with Harley-Davidson and retired in 1984 as a Supervisor. A member of Shiloh American Legion, he was also a member of E. Berlin V.F.W. and Naval Ordinance Plant Alumni. He loved being with family, taking long walks and being at his rustic mountain hideaway. In addition to his wife, Mr. Staub is also survived by, one son, Roy Staub and his wife Dana, three daughters, Rhonda Seigler and her husband, Craig, Deb Roberts and her husband, Junie and Karen Stewart and her husband, Nathan, step-son, James Mulhall and his wife, Tracie, one step-daughter, Lisa Ware and her husband, Bob, 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one brother, Louis Staub, one sister, Dorothy Jacobs and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Eisenhart. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
