MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Ellen Jane (Kornbau) Keeports, 76 formerly of York, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the wife of Harold E. Keeports. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 12, 2024.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 26, 2024 at Genesis Church, 1405 Seven Valleys Rd. in York New Salem, PA. There will be a viewing from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Bob Tome will be officiating at the service. The service will be webcast live at HeffnerCare.com and can be viewed by searching Ellen's obituary at HeffnerCare.com Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York with the interment service at 2:30 p.m., the same day. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, PA is assisting the family with the arrangements. An additional memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 18, 2024 at Beach Church, 557 George Bishop Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC
Mrs. Keeports retired from the York City School District, where she worked in the cafeteria for 29 years. More recently, she worked part time at Chick-fil-A in Myrtle Beach.
Mrs. Keeports was a member of Genesis Church in York New Salem, where she was an Awana leader for many years, taught children’s Sunday School, was involved with the card ministry program and their musical productions. After moving, she became a member of Beach Church in Myrtle Beach. She was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed dining out for special occasions, traveling, camping, walking her two grand dogs, as well as enjoyed watching Liberty University Sports. Her favorite place to be was the beach, which was her "happy place".
Mrs. Keeports leaves a son, Tom Keeports of York; a daughter, Sandy Snead and her husband Bryan of Myrtle Beach; four grandchildren, Hannah, Peter, Joseph, and Michael. Also surviving, are four sisters, Yvonne Kling, Louise Saltzgaver, Linda Keeports, and Joann Beaver; four brothers, Ray Kornbau, Roy Kornbau, a twin brother, Ervin Kornbau, and Gerald Kornbau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
