LEWISBURG - Ella A. (Sheddy) Keefer, 97 died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg. She was born in White Deer on April 18, 1916 and was the daughter of the late J. Kohr and Hazel (Baker) Sheddy. Ella married the late Oscar Dyer in 1938 and they celebrated 27 years of marriage together until his death on May 30, 1965. She then married the late Lake E. Keefer in 1971 and they celebrated 29 years until his death on April 19, 2000. She worked for various places including Fox Knapp Shirt Factory, Milton and Milton Shoe Factory before moving to Lewisburg in 1966 to work for the United Methodist Home, Lewisburg where she retired in 1972. After retirement she moved to Parkesburg until 1979 when she returned home to Lewisburg. Ella was a member of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church, White Deer. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and being with friends. She is survived by 2 nieces; Mary Ann Koch and husband Fred of Watsontown and Margaret Venios and husband Anthony of Milton, one nephew; David Aunkst and wife Donna of Crystal River FL, several great nieces and nephews one special friend of 34 years Bonita Rhinehart, one step daughter; Margaret “Peggy” Smith and husband Edward of Parkesburg two step grandsons; Edward Smith III and wife Renee of Dallas and Scott Smith and wife Karen of Parkesburg and seven step great grandchildren; Daniel, Cassie, Sarah, Matthew, Rebecca, Scott Jr., and Ashlyn. In addition to her parents, her first and second husband, Ella was preceded in death by one brother; Lee Aunkst who died in 1980. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837. A public viewing will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton PA 17847 followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Robert Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
