Elizabeth W. Heffner

York - Elizabeth W. “Betty” Heffner passed away peacefully Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 91. She was the widow of James W. Heffner, who passed in 2007, and the widow of Ernest P. Frank, who passed in 1965. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on September 10, 1930; she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Wally Haehnel. She and her husband founded Heffner Funeral Homes where many of her paintings hang to this day. She enjoyed oil painting and was an accomplished pianist. Her garden, feeding the birds and puzzles were hobbies. She always had her English Bulldog by her side. Most of all she will be remembered for her intense love of her family. She is survived by her three children; daughter; Sue Wilkin and her husband Frank, son Randy Heffner, son Ernie Heffner and his wife Laura; six grandchildren, Andy Warren, Jenny Statella and husband Joe, Megan Heffner and fiance Jon Stouch, Kurt Heffner, Philip Heffner, and Paul Heffner and his wife Jennifer; plus six great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her sister, Lucie Fainsbert of Somerset, N.J. She was preceded in death by her brother Rudy Haehnel. A private family last good-bye will be held at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion; followed by a Graveside Ceremony at St. Daniel’s Cemetery, Robesonia, PA.
