Elizabeth M. (Miller) Staire

KINGSTON-Elizabeth M. Staire, 97, formerly of Lee Park, died Sunday May 16, 2010 at the Manor Care Nursing Home, Kingston. Born in Philadelphia on May 4, 1913, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Robines) Miller. She was an active member of the Christ United Presbyterian Church, Hanover Township and a former member of the Douglas Presbyterian Church. She was also a Brownie Leader in Lee Park and was active in several neighborhood clubs. She shared 68 years of marriage with the late Merritt J. Staire, who died in 1997. She is survived by nephews David Damsky and wife Roxanne, Enola, PA; Michael Stair, Mt. Top; Mark Stair and wife Maureen, Kingston; Martin Erickson and wife Pat, VA; and Robert Erickson and wife Emma, Wilkes-Barre; and nieces Chris Keener and husband Karl, MT; Renee Murtagh and husband William, S.C.; and Lori Erickson, OH. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Martin & John Erickson; sisters, Thelma Butterfield, Beatrice Damsky and Margaret Atherholt. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 8:00P.M. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with the Reverend Andrea McDonnel officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 with a procession from the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
