RENOVO - Elizabeth M. Bratton, age 92, died at the Gatehouse in Williamsport on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011. She was born in Mahanoy City on May 18, 1919, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Novak) Kostelnik. Elizabeth attended St. Joseph High School, was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Democratic Women’s Club, Women’s Club of Curwensville, and loved gardening and playing cards. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. On June 5, 1936, she married Raymond C. Bratton in Renovo. They enjoyed 72 years together before his death in 2008. Surviving is her son: PHD Raymond J. (Arlene) Bratton and daughter: Barbara (George) Mills all of Renovo, and a daughter-in-law: Carol Bratton of Warren, Ohio. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Elizabeth was preceded by a son: Gary in 2010, a brother: Pete, and 3 sisters: Verna, Mary, and Helen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Renovo at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 with Fr. Charles Ugo celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Hyner. Memorials are requested to Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine Street, Renovo, Pa. 17764 or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 925 Huron Avenue, Renovo, Pa. 17764. Maxwell Funeral Home of Renovo is in charge of the arrangements.
