POTTSVILLE- Elizabeth M. Gauker, 93, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday evening at her granddaughters residence in Lebanon, PA. Born in Llewelyn on September 4, 1918, she was a daughter of the late William and Esther Wetzel Murton. In her younger years Elizabeth worked at the Miss Pennsylvania Factory and was also employed by the Schuylkill County Prison. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, Pine Grove. She loved Knit, crochet, read books, watch Pennsylvania Polka on PBS and do word puzzles. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Gauker, Sr., who passed away in 1974; her son, Charles E. Gauker, Jr, who passed away December 7, 2010; her sister Esther Adams; her two brothers, Lester and Millers Murton. She is survived by her Grandchildren, Charles E. Gauker, III, of Morris, PA, Mary Weatherholtz, of Pine Grove and Holly Reichert, wife of Darrel, of Lebanon, PA; her three great grandchildren, Keith Gauker, Samantha Demanczyk and Zachery Reichert; her great great grandson, John C. Demanczyk, Jr.;her brother, William Murton, husband of Mary, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday evening at 5:00 P.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville with Reverend Joseph Murton officiating. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Cressona Cemetery.
