Elizabeth M. (Burg) Smallwood Salmi

YORK- Elizabeth M. (Burg) Smallwood Salmi, 91, formerly of Dover, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in York. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Salmi and the late James D. Smallwood, Jr. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Chaplain Sue Oelrich will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Salmi was born in York on February 26, 1921, daughter of the late Clarence M. and Pauline A.L. (Landis) Burg. She worked for the former David Suit Company in York and Strand Capitol in York. Mrs. Salmi was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in York. Mrs. Salmi leaves a son, Ronald E. Smallwood and his wife Rhoda of Hanover; two daughters, Shirley A. Weitkamp and her husband William of York and Patricia L. Myers and her husband Elwood of York; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
