YORK - Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Grab) Yeaple, 79, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was the wife of Robert A. Yeaple with whom she shared 56 years. A graveside service will be held 9AM Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave., York, PA 17403 with the Rev. Richard C. Starr officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may gather at the main entrance of Mt. Rose cemetery at 8:45 AM. Mrs. Yeaple was born December 14, 1928 in Columbia, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Eva E. (Forney) Grab. She worked for two years as an employee of Bailsongs Silk Mill in Columbia before working at Tioga Silk Mill in York for four years. Prior to her marriage, she was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Columbia. Mrs. Yeaple enjoyed Sunday daytrips with her family and friends. Some of her favorite places were Caledonia and Ocean City, MD. She also enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City, and tending to her garden, which included yellow roses and dark red or pink geraniums. Mrs. Yeaple was always known for her great smile and laugh. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her husband Mrs. Yeaple leaves three daughters, Connie Sue Wagner and husband Robert of Manchester, Wanda M. (Wolf) Carbaugh and husband Neil of Seven Valleys, and Joyce L. Yeaple and companion Rick Hetrick of Manchester; three grandchildren, Cori Lynne Hetrick of Strinestown, Mandy E. (Wolf) Aldinger and companion Jerry L. Sparks of Red Lion, and Christopher J. Carbaugh of Seven Valleys; a great granddaughter, Autumn Cheyenne Aldinger; a brother Charles M. Grab of West York; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an uncle, John Forney of Columbia, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 S. Queen St., York, PA 17402.
