McDonald, PA- Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Elliehausen (née) age 86, formerly of Red Lion, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her residence. A faithful Christian, Elizabeth is happily at home with her Lord. She was the wife of the late Wilfried E. Elliehausen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Elliehausen was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 23, 1927, the daughter of the late James Lawrence and Helen Cecilia (Hartman) Bable. She was employed by the York City Housing Authority, from which she retired in 1991. Mrs. Elliehausen was a member of Chapel United Methodist Church in Red Lion. She was a 1947 Graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, where she earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She was a past senior Spelling Bee champion of York County. An avid reader, Mrs. Elliehausen also enjoyed playing piano. Mrs. Elliehausen is survived by two sons, James T. Elliehausen of Red Lion and William E. Elliehausen of York; a daughter, Susan E. Leese of Glen Burnie, MD; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her brothers, George Bable of Bulger, PA and Edward Bable of Midway, PA; two sisters, Dolores Bable and Barbara Yerkey, both of McDonald, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
