POTTSVILLE- Elizabeth “Betty” C. Koch, 88, resident of Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, passed away Wednesday morning at Schuylkil Center. Born in Pottsville on September 30, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Sampson D. and Esther Kull Koch. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School. She worked for Bell Telephone for 42 years before retiring in 1985. Betty was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, Trinity singers, craft class, “Exerettes”, senior travelers and Circle 5. She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, Anthracite Council. She was also a member of the Schuylkill Choral Society. Betty is survived by her cousin, Christine Bistline,and her three children, Raymond, Tina and Peter, of Wyndmoor, PA; her caregivers, Don and Mary Ann Burns, of Pottsville. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd and West Arch Streets, Pottsville. Reverend Peggy Sue Pfeffer will officiate. Friends may call on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
