Elizabeth 'Betty' J. (Anthony) Jacobs

YORK – Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Anthony) Jacobs, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Claude A. Jacobs to whom she was married 67 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, October 10, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with the Rev. W. Michael Langford officiating. A viewing will be 9-10 AM Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Jacobs was born December 25, 1928 in York. She was a daughter of the late Abraham C. and Ruth B. (Sandy) Anthony. She was a former employee of American Acme in Emigsville and Shiny Brite. She also served as a caretaker for the sick and a homemaker for her family. Mrs. Jacobs attended Messiah United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jacobs was an avid bingo player. She also loved to take cruise trips and travel. She loved music and loved to sing and play guitar with her twin sister Mary. Mrs. Jacobs loved sweets and baked goods, always saving room for dessert. She was also an animal lover, especially her dog “Toby”. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by four sons, Kenneth A. Jacobs and wife Gloria, Ronald L. Jacobs, Jesse J. Altland and fiancée Deborah, and Robert L. Stoner, Jr., all of York; one daughter, Nancy A. Beyer and husband Gary of York; five grandchildren, Penny L. Zettle, Clinton A. Jacobs, Gina L. Dunlap, Gary A Beyer, Jr., all of York and April M. Stewart of Lancaster; 13 Great-Grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and one expected great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Widmayer, Fayne Gonchenaur and Mary Nesbit.
