POTTSVILLE - Elizabeth A. “Betty” “Betty Ann” Terrill, 71, of Pottsville, died Saturday night at the Schuylkill Medical Center, South Jackson. Born in Philadelphia on May 13, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Matthews) McGovern. She moved to Branchdale where she lived with her favorite Aunt Mary McGovern. She was a 1958 graduate of Nativity BVM High School. Until retiring, she was employed as the desk clerk and manager of the former Fairlane Motor Inn, Pottsville. Betty Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville. She loved casino trips to Atlantic City. She was active in politics and thought St. Patrick’s Day was the best day of the year. On May 26, 1961, she married William A. Terrill, Pottsville. Surviving in addition to her husband William of 50 years are: a son William C. and his wife Jesenia, East Lansing, MI; three daughters, Lisa A. and her husband Bradley Neil, Harrisburg, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Chris Mengle, Phillipsburg, NJ, and Mary Ellen and her husband Craig Scott, Bloomfield, CT; four grandchildren, Megan N. Neil, Jenna R. Neil, Spencer W. Scott and Vivian R. Scott; a sister, Joan McGovern, Sheppton; a sister-in-law, Dolores Terrill, Pottsville; and a niece Danielle Bracken, Pottsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her Aunt Mary McGovern; sister Patricia (McGovern) Axling; brother in law, Harry Axling; a niece Susan Axling; and two grandchildren, Nicole R. Neil and Ryan D. Scott. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, with the Rev. Jeff Colarossi officiating viewing for family and friends will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and Wednesday morning from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, St. Clair.
