Elizabeth A. (Parsons) Sommerville

WILLIAMSPORT - Elizabeth Ann Alice Frances (Parsons) Lyle Somerville, 89, died on Monday, April 23, 2007 at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Robert N. Somerville who had died on February 09, 2007. Elizabeth and Robert were married on June 25, 1976 and celebrated 30 years together before his death. Elizabeth was born on April 22, 1918 in London, England. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Sessel) Parsons. She had graduated from the University of London and had retired from teaching. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Williamsport, enjoyed traveling and was politically active. Elizabeth is survived by one son; Robert Thomas Lyle of Weehawken, NJ, one step son; John R. Somerville of S. Williamsport, two step daughters; Susan Fletcher (Daniel) of Montoursville and Katherine Somerville of Philadelphia, three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband; John R. Lyle in 1972 and one brother; Robert Parsons. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
