Elise E. (Davis) Dressel

York—Elsie E. (Davis) Dressel, 90, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Wiley M. Dressel. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with her pastor, the Rev. Kevin T. Shively officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born August 4, 1924 in York, she was a daughter of the late Leonidas T. and Florence L. (Reachard) Davis. She was employed as a secretary for 27 ½ years with York College of Pennsylvania until her retirement in 1986. A member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, she was also a member of Women’s Club of North York, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Viking Athletic Assoc., Golden Nuggets, York Mall Walkers, Shiloh American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, past chief of the Pythian Sisters and a 1942 graduate of North York High School. Mrs. Dressel is survived by one son, Jeffrey L. Dressel and wife, Sandy of Dallastown; one daughter, Linda J. Glatfelter and husband, John of Manchester; five grandchildren, Ronald L. Glatfelter and wife, Kathleen, Michael S. Glatfelter, Lori S. Glatfelter Falci and husband, Joseph, Nicole L. Dressel and Jodie L. Dressel Lauber and husband, Tom; five great grandchildren, Joseph and Peter Falci, Madison and Adam Glatfelter and Declan Lauber and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Gabriella J. Falci; one brother, Thomas L. Davis and one sister, Elizabeth L. Shoffner.
