Elinor M. (Clark) Kiger

YORK- Elinor M. (Clark) Kiger, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services, Kingston Court in York. She previously resided at Country Meadows in York. She was the wife of the late Lloyd L. Kiger. The couple had celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2006. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 East Market Street in York. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York and from 11:30a.m.-noon at the church. A gathering will immediately follow the service at the church. The Reverend Dr. Paul E. Stambach will be officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Mrs. Kiger was born in North Russell, NY on September 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Theron and Leah (Coon) Clark. She retired in 1989 from Central York Senior High where she was a Cafeteria Cook. Mrs. Kiger was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in York, where she was a Stephen’s Minister and volunteered for Our Daily Bread. She was a member of Public School Employees Retirement System and was previously a Brownie Leader in York. Mrs. Kiger leaves a daughter, Jeanette L. Rosenberger and her husband Robert of Columbia, MD; three grandsons, David Kiger of York, and Tyler and Eric Rosenberger of Columbia, MD; a sister, Doris M. Clark of Schenectady, NY; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Kiger. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Kiger.
