Elinor M. Cannon

DOVER- Elinor M. (Martin) Cannon, 91, of Dover Township, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services, South in York. She was the wife of the late James P. Cannon. The couple was married for 72 years at the time of his passing. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with all services private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mrs. Cannon was born in York on November 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Thomas and Fannie (Hoskins) Martin. She was the chief cook for 25 years for A.D. Goode Elementary School in York. Mrs. Cannon loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Cannon leaves a son, Donald M. Cannon, Sr. and his wife Debra of Dover; two grandchildren, Melissa Cannon Workman and her husband Ed of Dover and Donald M. Cannon, Jr., PHD and his wife Angela Cannon, PHD of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Zachary and Zoey Workman and Jacob and Cyrus Cannon, and a sister, Romaine Bates of York.
