Red Lion—Electa M. (Keeports) Wilson, 92, passed away, Monday, July 5, 2010 at her residence in Red Lion Borough. She was the wife of Paul L. Wilson, with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on October 17th, 2009. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Red Lion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born September 20, 1917 in Chanceford Township, she was a daughter of the late Luther L. and Eva M. (Haugh) Keeports. She was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1975 as Master Chief after serving her country in an outstanding manner for 29 years. She worked at the Navy Regional Finance Center, where she coordinated the internal review and audit functions within the military pay department. In addition, she also served as a Division Officer for approximately fifty military personnel and as a Deputy Disbursing Officer. Her other duties included drug abuse command representative, educational and training officer, Navy relief representative and combined federal campaign coordinator. She also served as a member of the Navy Federal Credit Union Board and was active in church affairs. She received many fine compliments for her devoted performance to her duties, including the Navy Achievement Medal. A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion, she was also a life member of the Izaak Walton League of America, loved being in the mountains with her family and enjoyed crossword puzzles. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilson is also survived by three nieces, Ann Metzger, Nancy Keeports and Linda Electa Martin and one nephew, Robert "Butch" Metzger. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and one brother. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave, Red Lion, Pa 17356.
