Eleanore M. Forney

POTTSVILLE- Eleanore M. Forney, 88, of Pottsville, passed away Friday evening at Union Hospital, Elkton, Maryland. Born in Pottsville on April 19, 1922 she was a daughter of the late George and Theresa Montag Yeastedt. Eleanore was a 1939 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School, Pottsville. She worked as an officer manager for Prudential Insurance, Pottsville for over 30 years until she retired in 1994. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville. She was a member of the Catholic Womens Union. Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband, Burton T. Forney, who passed away in 1980; her brother, Cyril Yeasted; her sisters, Marie Majestic, Rita Davis, Alberto Corttis and Marcella Montour. She is survived by her two sons, George Forney, husband of Barbara, of Pottsville, and Charles Forney, husband of Patricia, of Minersville; her daughter, Karen Jackson, wife of David, of Elkton, MD; her 10 Grandchildren, Jennifer Daubert, wife of Jay, Michelle Heenan, wife of Tom, Jodie Oswald, wife of Jeremy, Brian Forney, husband of Abby, Scott Forney, Nicole Forney, Lisa Forney, Melissa Marvel, wife of Adam, Christopher Jackson, husband of Joy and Jessica Jackson; her 7 Great Grandchildren, Ty, Hayden and Jackson Daubert, Samantha Heenan, Chase and Austin Oswald and Natalie Marvel; her four brothers, Clair, Vincent,Robert and George Yeasted; many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, 10th and Mahantongo Street, Pottsville. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 7:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Interment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville. Memorial donations can be made to either Nativity BVM, c/o Development Office, One Lawtons Hill, Pottsville,PA 17901, or St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901. Donations will be accepted at the church the day of the funeral. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
