YORK- Eleanor (Owenby) Aulozzi, 85, died Wednesday September 9, 2009 at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Domenick J. Aulozzi, who passed away July 13, 2007. Services for Mrs. Aulozzi are private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Aulozzi was born on September 28, 1923 in South Dakota, a daughter of the late Grover and Ethel (Blackwell) Owenby. Eleanor worked more than 28 years as a Beautician for various small companies. Mrs. Aulozzi was a member of Church of All Faiths in Lady Lake, FL. and later attended Grandview Christian Church. Eleanor enjoyed knitting and crocheting. While a member of the Women's Organization at the Church of All Faiths, she knitted over 300 hats for the soldiers in Iraq. Mrs. Aulozzi also knitted many new born hats. Mrs. Aulozzi was loved by everyone. She was a wonderful parent, grandparent and friend. Mrs. Aulozzi is survived by a son, Richard Aulozzi, Sr. of Spring Hill, FL; a daughter Marsha Wolferman and husband Bill of York; five grandchildren, Riki Aulozzi, Richard Aulozzi, Jr., Nicole O'Brien, Brian Wolferman and Sarah Altland; seven great grandchildren, Carissa, Shaun, Kathryn, Kyle, Jack, Elijah, and Jonas; one brother, Thurlo Owenby of Kennesaw, GA; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Eleanor is preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Owenby and Doc Owenby; and three sisters, Irene Kelley, Vernoy Atkinson, and Mardel Barke. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dover Food Bank, 1832 Industrial Ct., Dover, PA 17315.
