Eleanor J. (Sharockman) Weist

POTTSVILLE - Eleanor J. Weist, 70, of Pottsville, died Tuesday at her home. Born in St. Clair on May 14, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Miller Sharockman. She was married to the late Thomas L. Weist who died August 23, 2007. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ Pottsville. Until retiring, she was employed at Burger King in Pottsville for 25 years. Surviving Eleanor are: two sons, Melvin and his wife Mary Ann and Thomas and his wife Deborah, all of Pottsville; a daughter, Melanie Johnson, of St. Clair; seven grandchildren, Gilbert Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Shanon Weist, Constance Weist, Abrienne Weist, Rebecca Weist and Rachel Weist; four great grandchildren, Shawn Johnson, Kaylee Wychunas, Alexis Spirko and Heidi Wychunas; three brothers, Jack Sharockman, of Virginia, Edward Sharockman, of Minn and Gregory Sharockman, of St. Clair; a sister Alice Favinger, of St. Clair; and several nieces and newphews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a brother Charles Sharockman and a sister, Irene Jacobs. Celebration of Life services for both Thomas and Eleanor will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pottsville.
