POTTSVILLE - Eleanor C. Melinchock, 91, a resident of York Terrace, Golden Living Center, Pottsville, formerly of West West Terrace, died Sunday morning at the Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian St., Pottsville. Born in Pottsville on April 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William and Eleanor Edden Frankenstine. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School. Eleanor was a member of the former St. Vincent De Paul Church, Minersville and a member of St. Michael the Archangel, Minersville. On November 10, 1939, she married the late John Melinchock, who died Feb. 21, 1996. Surviving Eleanor are: a brother, Joseph and his wife Rose, of Pottsville; three sisters, Marie Caruano, of Schuylkill Haven, Jane and her husband Earl Murphy, of Pottsville, and Ruth and her husband Joseph Smigo, of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Hazel Ackalusky and Estelle Madara; and a brother William Frankenstine.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM from the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, Minersville. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Contributions in Eleanor's name can be made to the memorial fund of Saint Michael the Archangel, 539 Sunbury St., Minersville, PA 17954.
