Eleanor A. "Ellie" (Pratt) Mills

ALLENWOOD - Eleanor A. (Pratt) Mills, 75, died peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in Allenwood, PA. Eleanor (Ellie) was born on January 20, 1942 in Islip, New York. She was the cherished daughter of the late Edward F. Pratt and Jean M. (Johansen) Pratt, who survives. Ellie was happily married to the love of her life, and soul mate, the late Herbert R. Mills, Sr. Together they shared decades of adventurous and precious times together. In addition to her devoted mother, Ellie leaves behind her six beloved and spirited children: Margaret A. Young of Allenwood, PA; Twins: Penny L. Howansky (Timothy) of Malta, NY and Nikki L. Brate of Colonie, NY; Twins: Richard A. Young (Michelle) of Brainard, NY and Regina A. Staggert (Miles Jr.) of Allenwood, PA; and Pamela A. Wells of Troy, NY; her treasured 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Ellie is also survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews and her lifelong spunky friend; Jane Ryan of NC. In addition to her father and husband, Ellie was preceded in death by her siblings; Edward F. Pratt, Jr., David A. Pratt, Sr. and Jeanette L. (Pratt) Scrum. After providing decades of public service to the State of New York (DMV), Ellie enjoyed her retirement. Ellie was thrilled by the hunt for treasures, antiques, glass and collectibles. She loved to travel all over and devoted much of her life to spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Ellie was an auxiliary member of the Montgomery American Legion, Post #251. Services for Ellie are being held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton. Burial will take place at a later date in East Nassau Rural Cemetery, Nassau, NY.
