Reisterstown, MD - Ekron W. Stover, 94, formerly of York, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Best Care Assisted Living in Reisterstown. He was the husband of the late Ellen L. [Plath] Stover. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Norman J. Obenshain officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:00 AM Saturday with Masonic rites taking place at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born November 15, 1913 in York a son of the late Harry H. and Jennie [Myers] Stover, he was a 1930 graduate of West York High School. He retired in 1973 as Superintendent of Deliveries/Collections and Officer in Charge from the York Post Office where he was employed for 34 years. His Masonic affiliations include Free and Accepted Masons, Zeredetha Lodge 451, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York Forest 30, Harrisburg Consistory. He was also a member of Zion United Church of Christ; Life and Charter Member of West York VFW 8951; National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 331; and National Assoc. of Letter Carriers, Branch 509. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Stover is survived by a daughter, Linda A. and husband Warren White of Reisterstown; two grandsons, Brian A. and Darren A. White; two great granddaughters, Abby C. and Gracie E. White; and several nieces and nephews.
