Efren R. Navarro

YORK – Efren R. Navarro, 79, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Helen (Nicolas) Navarro to whom he was married for 50 years on Nov. 28, 2014. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market Street, York with his pastor, The Rev. Don Slaybaugh officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born June 18, 1935 in Manila, Philippines a son of Maria (Ranit) Navarro of San Francisco, CA and the late Felix Q. Navarro, he had earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Efren had retired from York International Inc. He was a member of Asbury UM Church, loved to vacation in the Outer Banks, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing chess. In addition to his wife, Mr. Navarro is survived by two sons, Nathaniel N. and wife Anna Navarro of Leesburg, VA and Efren N. Navarro, Jr. and wife Janet of Lake Forest, CA; two daughters, Noemi N. and husband Joel Trent of Cleveland, OH and Jewell N. and husband Redy Villanueva of Las Vegas, NV; and six grandchildren, Cristian, Caitlin, Natalie, Devon, Rachel, and Dominic.
