Edwin Arthur Baker, Sr.

Edwin Arthur Baker, Sr., 76, of Elmira, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira. He was the loving husband of Irene (McFall) Baker. The couple married on February 11, 1991 and had 20 happy years together. Ed was born on September 14, 1934 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Fred Mack and Sarah Ruth (Baker) Baker. Ed worked as a plumber for over 40 years, and worked for various plumbing companies in the area. He was a member of the Moose lodge in Horseheads, NY. Ed is survived by his wife Irene, his sons: Edwin ( Deborah) Baker, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Robert Baker of Elmira, NY, Michael Baker of Elmira, NY, and Charles Baker of Florida, his stepchildren: Anita (Al) Keagle of Burdette, NY, Edwin Keagle of Elmira, NY, and Douglas (Rita) Keagle of Corning, NY, 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, his sisters: June Baker of Middleburg, NY, and Marilyn (Dick) Salone of Geneva, NY, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his step son William Keagle, and his step daughter Shirley Keagle. Family and friends may gather from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc, 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The memorial service to honor Ed’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on May 21st at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
