POTTSVILLE - Edwin A. James, 85, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday evening at his residence. Born in Pottsville on November 23, 1923, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Marion Brinich James. Ed was a 1938 graduate of Pottsville High School. He was an electrician having worked for Alcoa for 43 years and Cressona Aluminum for 9 years until he retired. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a founding member of the Sunlight Gun Club, Tioga County, and a member of the Mechanicsville Game and Fish. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. He was preceded in death by his sister, Berniece Spencer and his two brothers, Thomas and Paul James. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mildred, "Midge" F. Thornburg James, of Pottsville; his sister, Ruth Campo, Kansas City, MO; his brother, Jack James, of Joplin, MO; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
