Edward S. Kramer, Sr.

HYNER - Edward S. Kramer, Sr., 80, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 9, 1930 in Bendertown, PA a son of William and Alva ( Kauffman) Kramer. His first wife the former Joyce Huff died in 2007 and his second wife Sharon Schoonover preceded Edward in death in 2009. Edward worked as a logger for Smith Lumber Company for 50 years retiring in 1992. Earlier he worked as a coal miner in Westport and for Piper. He was a 1948 graduate of Benton High School. Edward was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served in the 24th Infantry. He was a member of Hyner United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, National Wildlife Federation and the Clinton County Sportsmens Association. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Surviving are three sons; Fred Kramer of Bloomsburg, Edward S. Kramer, Jr and his wife Brenda of Fredericksburg and Glenn (Stella) Kramer of Hobbs, NM also one stepson Kenneth (Jen) Schoonover of Lock Haven. Four daughters; Jeri (Donnie) Wise of Loganton, Linda Morton and Kathryn (Kenny) Phillips both of Stanford, TX and Michelle Kramer of Emporium. Three stepdaughters; De De (Ivan) Baker of Nicholson, PA, Brenda Nelen of Emporium and Lori (Ray) Hill of DE. Thirty-one grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren. Three brothers Herman Bud Kramer of Arvada, CO, Don Kramer of Bloomsburg and Robert Kramer of Danville and a sister Dorothy Shoemaker of Billings, MT. A son John Kramer in 2001 and a granddaughter Katelyn Kramer preceded him in death in 2009. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 8, 2011at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with Rev. Robert Pickering officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
