Pottsville- Edward R. Byrnes, 57, of Jonestown, passed away Wednesday at home. Born in Pottsville on January 8, 1954, he was a son of the late Richard and Catherine Kleibenstein Byrnes. Ed was a 1971 graduate of Pottsville High School. He worked for Security Guards, Inc., at the Sara Lee Warehouse in Highridge Park as a security guard. He was a member of Saint Clare of Assisi Church, Saint Clair. He was an active member of South Cass Fire Company, fondly known by members as "Mr. French Fryer". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Byrnes. Ed is survived by his wife, Cynthia P. Yarosh Byrnes, Jonestown, to whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage in October; his daughter Pertronella "Nella" Hutsko, wife of Mark, of Jonestown; his grandson, Logan Andrew Hutsko; his siblings, Kathleen Shebakis, wife of Al, of New Philadelphia, Richard Byrnes, husband of Carolyn, of Colorado Springs, CO and Alice Bradford, wife of Russ, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Clare of Assisi Church, Mill and Hancock Streets, Saint Clair. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville, PA. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Peach Mountain, Pottsville. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to South Cass Fire Co., 14 Water Lane, Pottsville, PA 17901.
