Edward M. Boris

AVOCA-Edward M. Boris, 82, of Grove Street, Avoca, died Friday at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary T. (Chaump) Boris, who died March, 21, 2007. Born on September 13, 1925 in Avoca, he was the son of the late Andrew and Frances Boris. He was a graduate of Avoca High School and served in Army during WWII in France and Germany. He was a member of the Amvets, Dupont and the VFW, Avoca. He was a member of St. Mary's, Avoca. Prior to retiring, he was employed by Pope and Talbot Paper Company for 25 years. Prior to that he worked at the A&P for 14 years. Surviving are two sons, Eric and his wife, Lisa, Avoca and Edward and his wife, Patricia, Queens, NY, three grandchildren, Maria and Amy Boris, Avoca and Erik Boris, Queens, NY, a brother, Anthony Boris, Avoca, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Felix and four sisters, Angela Stoffa, Helen Crawford, Stella Podrasky and Sophie Kapria. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00AM from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main Street, Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Mary's Church, Avoca, to be celebrated by Reverend Phillip J. Sladicka. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
