WEST YORK – Edward L. Bievenour, 78, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Ruth D. (Boyd) Bievenour to whom he was married for 54 years on June 6, 2013. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Jessica Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born July 14, 1935 in York a son of the late Lewis and Blanche (Clapsadle) Bievenour, he retired in November of 2011 after 53 years as a professional photographer. His photography work included studio stills, video, and aerial pictures. Mr. Bievenour loved his adventurous lifestyle as a Charter Member and active participant in the York Skydiving Club and spent many hours flying his paraplane. He also enjoyed sailing, riding motorcycles, and hunting. He was a former president of Cosmopolitan Club and a member of the Advisory Board and Meredith Board for York County Parks. Edward also was a member of Hawks Gunning Club, West York VFW, Viking AA, and Prince AA. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bievenour is survived by a son, Mark and wife Christy Bievenour of Gulfport, MS; three daughters, Bonny and husband Jeffrey Harbold of York, Debra Bievenour and spouse Jennifer Mann of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Susan Hartman of York; eight grandchildren, Michael, Andrea, Joshua, Jerrid, Kayla, Nathan, Renee, and Sarah; one great grandson, Sebastian; two brothers, Robert Bievenour of York and James and wife Susan Bievenour of Gettysburg; a half-brother, Lewis Bievenour of Virginia; a sister, Sarah and husband Thomas Hughes of St. Louis, MO; and extended family. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 710 W 168th St., New York, NY 10032 or to York County Parks, 400 Mundis Race Rd., York, PA 17406.
