Edward J. Gorman

Edward J. Gorman, 87, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Suzanne (McQuilkin) Gorman to whom he was married for 58 years.

Born December 16, 1935, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was a son of the late Herbert W. and Evelyn L. (Beard) Gorman. Shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech, Mr. Gorman went on to join the Army and served from 1958 – 1961. Upon returning home, he worked in sales for over 25 years for GE and later retiring from Ames Inc. In his free time, Mr. Gorman enjoyed his model railroads, woodworking, and golfing. He was an amazing husband, father, and role model and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Suzanne Gorman, Mr. Gorman leaves behind three sons, Kevin Gorman, Mark Gorman, and Lee Gorman; three grandchildren, Catherine C. Gorman, Duncan M. Gorman, and Jordan Freed; one great grandchild, Jayden Freed; and a sister, Sandra Kealey. Mr. Gorman is preceded in death by a brother, Chester Gorman.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. is assisting with arrangements.
